Package 1 – Introduction to Fly Fishing  (Lake Trip)

One of the best ways to learn to fly fish is to chase the bluegill and other panfish around out on the local lakes in the Spring and early Summer. These fish are not very spooky, and will eat just about anything small and buggy you throw in front of them. This trip offers you the chance to learn the fly fishing skills of casting, accuracy, hooking and landing fish, and getting accustomed to using fly fishing equipment. You will also catch plenty of fish without much down time as the catching is usually fast and furious. This fish may be small, but they make up for it in numbers and fun. A great way to get started fly fishing. Prime time is May and June, season runs Mid-April through September.

Due to shop operating hours, trips are preferably booked for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.  Guided trips on Tuesday-Friday can possibly be accommodated with some advance notice.

Half Day (4 hours) 1 or 2 people – $140
Full Day (6-8 hours) 1 or 2 people – $200

Package 2 – Introduction to Trout on the Fly  (River Trip)

Trout fishing with a fly rod is a little more involved than chasing the panfish around on the local lake. Catching trout on a fly rod is not necessarily harder, but there are some techniques and presentations that require a little more of a learning curve. These trips are designed to teach you the three main techniques of streamer fishing, nymphing with indicators, and dry fly fishing. By the end of the trip, you will have a much better understanding of the techniques needed to catch trout in rivers using fly fishing equipment. These trips are on public trout water in either NC or SC. Prime time is March through Mid-May and October/November.
